NOMADS

Medium Ano Grey Nomad - Kit #3 - RP3!
$3699.99

HERE IS WHAT SANTA CRUZ SAYS ABOUT THE NOMAD:
If the VP-Free and the Blur LT spent a dirty weekend together in Whistler, chances are that nine months later there'd be a little Nomad running around. Shorter and more nimble than the Free, the Nomad nevertheless sports 165mm of ultra-plush rear travel and the stout frame construction of it's bigger relative. Longer and slacker than the Blur LT, on the other hand, it still features a 135mm spaced, Q.R friendly, rear dropout, a trail-happy wheelbase, multiple chainring readiness, and the steady pedaling, easy climbing demeanor of our VPP suspension. Jekyll? Hyde? That's up to you. Throw it off cliffs or rip long trails in total comfort. Either way, the Nomad is built for the long haul.

HERE IS WHAT SMART CYCLES SAYS:
Read what Santa Cruz Says! No, just kidding...kinda!  We're reminded of a Bullit on VPP steroids...we think that makes sense.  A do-it-all, and do-it-all really-freaking-well kind of bike.  Jekyl and Hyde for sure but we're also reminded a bit of Frankenstein when we look at these Nomads...the long welding beads on the formed top tube sure look like the stitching on the monster we all know and love.  Imagine a NOMAD with a "alternate" set of wheels and fork...you could possibly be set for "life" with that rig!

2010 BLUR LT2's ARE HERE!

The Blur LT is one of those rare, hard to define machines. It is light enough and nimble enough that it thrives in cut and dice woodsy singletrack riding, but is also strong, plush and stable, and very much at home dropping down steep and scary terrain. And it climbs mighty nicely, too. It's a true jack of all trades, with none of the compromises that usually implies.

With an eye toward enhancing those aspects that have made it such a popular bike, the LT has undergone a thorough revision. New frame design, new VPP suspension offering 140mm travel, new linkages. The result is a bike that does everything it did before, better. More performance, less fuss. If you could only have one bike, this would be a pretty dang good bike to have.

ABOVE:  BLUR LT Carbon with SLX Kit.  Full bike $3699!

2010 HECKLER!  HOLY C**P!

Heckleriffic!
“Sweet and simple” are words that usually have some sort of double meaning when strung together. They damn with faint praise – “Sure is a sweet dog you got there. Shame it’s so dang ugly...” “These directions are so simple, a monkey could understand them...” But in the case of the new Heckler, the third and final member of our single pivot revival, those words are perfect.

All the lovable traits of Hecklers past are retained, with some new tweaks added to make a good thing even better. The stout 6069 aluminum front triangle features advanced gussets reinforcing the headtube without adding boat anchor weight. The shaped downtube leaves enough space for any single crown fork to fit with room to spare. The rear swingarm now pivots on an optimally placed, 15mm diameter axle, rides on lifetime guaranteed bearings and coughs up 5.9-inches of travel. A new replaceable rear derailleur hanger sits independently of the rear dropout, and all the frame components can be disassembled or put back together with a few allen wrenches.

It’s an all-season, all-terrain all-rounder. It’s a tough duty trailbike that can be ridden hard and put away wet and always be ready for more. It’s sweet, like alpine singletrack on the first warm day after the snow has melted. It’s simple, like a real sharp ax. Sweet, simple, and proud of it.

  • Burly 15mm main pivot, lifetime bearing guarantee!
  • 5.9” rear travel, 6.4lb frame and shock weight (medium, Fox Float R shock)
  • Clearance for 8” brake rotors
  • Updated geometry designed around 140mm forks, able to take up to 170mm
  • Super clean replaceable derailleur hanger
  • Recessed, threaded shock mounts and tool friendly design
  • Available in choice of five powdercoat, two anodized, and one polished finish

2010 BULLIT
It's BACK and It's BADASS!

Resurrection Time!

Bullit Ano Bronze - Kit #36

The Bullit is Back! Bigger, bolder, badder and better than ever before, the new and freshly evolved Bullit marks another
chapter of Santa Cruz's single pivot revival.

After taking a couple years off, this all-duty workhorse returns to the lineup ready to tackle anything and everything, smoothing out trail rides and sucking up downhill punishment with sweet handling, low maintenance simplicity.

Custom drawn double-butted aluminum tubes form the completely redesigned front triangle, while a new and vastly stiffened swingarm pivots on a massive 20mm axle riding in oversize bearings (oversize bearings that come with a lifetime guarantee, no less).

There's over 7-inches of rear wheel travel, it'll fit 8-inch brake rotors in the back, and the stout 1.5" headtube and gusseted top and down tubes allow you to put whatever the hell kind of fork you want up front.

Combine that with the ability to run either standard, q.r friendly,135mm rear dropouts, or 150mm thru-axle dropouts, as well as an optional floating rear brake kit, and the Bullit is equipped to handle any kind of terrain imaginable.

  • Huge 20mm swingarm pivot

  • Lifetime pivot bearing guarantee

  • 135 q.r OR 150mm thru-axle rear dropouts

  • Optional 150mm axle fully floating rear brake kit

  • 178mm rear wheel travel

  • 1.5" headtube

  • Wrench friendly! All frame parts can be disassembled (and assembled) with four readily available allen wrenches, and the swingarm bearing cups use a Shimano external BB tool.

  • Hard anodized 7075 aluminum hardware

  • Available in either powdercoat or anodized finishes

  • Multpile cable routing options (either full housings or split housings, take your pick)

  • Build it up anywhere between 32 and 44 pounds, climb it like a long travel trail bike, kill it like a freeride bike. It's even built to be bar-spin friendly...

Chameleon
Like the name implies, a versatile bike. Or a lizard that can change colors. It looks more like a bike than a lizard though. Anyway, the Chameleon is a stiff and tough 7005 aluminum bike. It’s built with a pair of rocket fast 1 inch square chainstays, wishbone seatstay, gusseted top and down tubes, horizontal dropouts, and snappy geometry. We designed the chameleon to be a fast handling, fun to ride bike that should last a long time even under the hands of abusive psychopaths.  Slalom? Why, yes. X-C? Of course. Single speed? Certainly, you sick pervert. The name is Chameleon, after all… Frame weighs 4.1lbs

Superlight
When things like resting pulse rates and anaerobic thresholds become important, and the phrase “no holds barred” takes on a special meaning, there’s the Superlight. We took the Heckler design, crafted a new front triangle out of custom butted Alcoa 6061 aluminum tubing, internally relieved the head tube and bottom bracket shell to remove every last hint of excess metal, and created a new, even lighter swingarm. In the process, we ended up with a frame and swingarm which cleaves 1.4 pounds from the weight of the already respectably light Heckler. Then we slapped on a super plush air shock, and gussied the bike up with a sweet chi-chi parts pick. The result? 22.5 pounds, with four inches of rebound and compression adjustable rear wheel travel. Which basically translates into something like a bantamweight boxer with a grossly deformed right arm that can punch through brick walls.

All the good things about the Heckler are still there-the hassle free, low maintenance pivot, the high efficiency design and the superb lateral stiffness inherent to it—just built a little lighter with one thing in mind. Tearing up cross country race courses. If going fast and winning races is something you feel stirring in your blood, the Superlight can get you there faster than you can say “skinny shaved legs atop the podium”.

225lb rider weight limit. Frame weighs 5.3lbs

JULIANA SUPERLIGHT
t's a Superlight, but one that's been tweaked.  Drawing on the Juli Furtado database of experience, the Juliana SL features geometry altered slightly to accomodate a woman's physique.  Slightly lower bottom brackets, shorter top tubes, and relaxed head angles can be found on a range of bikes that offer sizes and suspension options for riders all the way down into pixiedom.  So far, they've been getting rave reviews fom all who have ridden them.  Which, quite frankly, surprise us, since we're just a bunch of hairy knuckled ogres.

Medium Juliana

2010 V-10
With over ten inches of rear wheel travel, you can make gravity your slave. Our VPP derived V-10 can run a plush four inches of sag - couple that with the incredible damping abilities of FOX's DHX COIL or AIR shock and you’re looking at the only DH bike in the world that feels like it’s rear wheel is glued to the ground. More tractable and plush than anything else out there, the miracle is that it pedals faster than anything else out there too. The V-10’s introduction two years ago was the opening shot in a downhill revolution.
